September 1st Giveaway Humpty!

This cheerful humpty dumpty has been specially knitted for my blog "give away" on September 1st!

I like to do something special on September 1st, which was my mother's birthday. It was my mother who taught me the rudiments of knitting: how to cast on, knit, purl, and cast off when I was tiny. She also encouraged me to experiment with knitting, and allowed me to delve into her knitting encyclopedia to discover fancy stitches like cable that I could use to embellish the doll's clothes I made.

On September 1st, I will pick a winner at random from amongst all who have left a comment on this blog post about "September 1st Giveaway Humpty". Please also provide an email address so I can contact you if you win. Good luck!

Your mother would be so proud :) I would so love to knit but my left hand will not go with the plan - and so I crochet :) Humpty is great, if I win I will make him a little horse (crochet) to hang out with :) my daughter would be thrilled!

A fine reason for a giveaway. Love the humpty. If I win he'll keep Gerty company.

I'm sure your mum would be proud. Your knitting rules.

xx

He's lovely and your Mum would love him too! My Mum taught me to knit, she was so patient. Sadly Mum died and I've recently been sorting out her things including her many bags of wool and needles. I've cried several times when I've found things that she didn't finish; it's given me a great connection to use her needles and to knit with her wool. I'm currently making presents for family and friends from her wool ; she was such a kind, generous, funny and sweet lady full of love I hope that my little keepsakes will spread that around. I miss her x

Aw , he's a cute little dude and it's a lovely idea for a competition. Mums are great; my mum encouraged me with my writing and drawing on rainy days during the school holidays and I'm always sad she was never around to see me make something of myself with my comics.
